Why now?

  • Digital lives and resulted in elected leadership that no longer interacts with the people who elected them. We have demanded change, to start fresh, and build for our future. Yet, the system used outrage and anger to deepen divides. As a result, Americans are disengaged and checking out. While those on the most extreme, fringe ends are turning to violence. For America to make it another 250 years, this must end now.

  • A small number of people in a small number of states hold a disproportionate share of influence in a system that was developed to represent all of us. A $100 expense to the average American household is roughly equal to a $1.3 million dollar expense to a billionaire. The American made and controlled corporations and individual wealth represent an even smaller percentage of American voters and donors. Our system is increasingly controlled by foreign nationals and investments aimed at controlling who leads our future.

  • More Americans than ever now identify as independent, not Republican or Democrat. Yet in much of the country, independents are shut out of the elections that matter most: the primaries where candidates are chosen. That means millions of Americans help fund a system they often cannot fully participate in. Instead of shaping the future, many are left choosing between options they did not help select, voting for the “lesser of two evils” rather than leaders who genuinely represent their values, experiences, and hopes for the country. When nearly half the nation stands outside the two-party system, but the system still forces politics through only two doors, people begin to feel unheard, disconnected, and powerless. That is not healthy for a democracy, and Americans across the political spectrum can feel it.

Our Four Freedoms are under attack.

  • Opportunity

Americans that work hard, play by the rules, and help protect our freedoms should not be facing such severe financial insecurity. A strong nation ensures opportunity, fairness, and dignity for every human life.

  • Free Speech

Real leaders value varying viewpoints. Our freedom of speech, even when we disagree, is among our most fundament rights that must be fearlessly protected. Americans must demand a leadership and a government that listens, not one that silences or dismisses the people it serves.

  • Fear

Families in America should be able to feel both safe and secure. Safe from corruption, from abuse of power, at schools, in their homes, and from systems that profit at the expense of our wellbeing.

  • Faith

Faith and conscience are deeply personal – these liberties of choice around religion are and must remain among the most protected spaces and exist beyond the reach of political power.
